Public Fire & Life Safety Education

Public Fire and Life Safety Education has been proved to be the most effective and cost efficient method of reducing not only the numbers of fires, but also the number of deaths and injuries that results from fires.  The Mt. Lebanon Fire Department is determined to offer to the citizens of Mt. Lebanon the latest and most innovative techniques for not only surviving a fire, but also give them the knowledge and skills to prevent that fire from ever occurring.

School Education Program:
Manages school fire safety education program; coordinates activities with teachers, principals and school administrators; delivers lesson plans as needed; reviews and revises curriculum as appropriate; prepares and administers annual Fire Prevention test; scores tests; compiles results and distributes reports to teachers; purchases and distributes prizes to top scoring students.
Staff Training:
Provides training on fire safety practices and procedures to employees of health care facilities, group homes and other community businesses. Public Information:
Adult Education: 
Develops and delivers public education programs for adult audiences and special population groups.
