The Emergency Management Platoon is responsible for the Emergency Warning Systems in the Municipality. The three-part system currently consists of eight (8) rooftop sirens, the emergency management web site (http://www.mtlfd.org/mlema/) and the local cable access channel for Mt.Lebanon (Cable-7).The system is utilized for early warning for severe weather events, power and utility outages, civil disturbances and many other potentially hazardous events that can affect our community.Tests of the warning sirens are conducted on the first Saturday of each month at 1:00pm. These tests are important to maintaining the effectiveness of the equipment and are designed to remind all residents of what to do in case of a true emergency.
